EVANS SECURES FIRST POINTS IN ROUND ONE OF THE 2019/2020 ABB FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP.

Updated: Feb 17, 2020

Mitch Evans started season six with a points-scoring race for Panasonic Jaguar Racing crossing the finish line in P10 at the Diriyah E-Prix.

After a challenging qualifying, with Mitch in qualifying group one and catching traffic on his lap he made great progress, making up six positions in the race to score points and secure fastest lap.

"Not an ideal result but considering the circumstance after qualifying, we can be reasonably satisfied. It was always going to be difficult being in group one for qualifying, especially with the track evolution here. Achieving the fastest lap of the race shows our pace – let’s hope tomorrow’s qualifying goes well and we can get a good result in the race." Mitch Evans

Evans takes Super Pole at the second round of the ABB FIA Formula E 2019/2020 Championship.

For the second race of the weekend, Evans was set for a top 5 race result, battling competitively on track before an incident with Sam Bird left him with damage, forcing him to pit and also take a penalty. A P6 performance in qualifying put Mitch through to his first Super Pole session of season six. He was fourth quickest but received a penalty for a technical infringement and started P6. In a race to forget Evans took the chequered flag in P18.
